Dr. Shima Rostami

Executive Director, Gateway Alliance against Human Trafficking

Shima Rostami received her doctorate in Educational Leadership. Her doctoral study focused on ‘Developing Moral Education to Combat Human Trafficking’. Currently, she serves as the Executive Director of Gateway Alliance against Human Trafficking (GAHT), a non-profit committed to educating communities and inspiring positive systemic change to end human trafficking. She is a member of the U.S. Attorney’s Human Trafficking and Hate Crime Task Forces of the Eastern District of Missouri. In an order, the Supreme Court of Missouri appointed Dr. Rostami as a member of the Combating Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Commission.

Mayor Dan Borgmeyer

Mayor, City of Saint Charles, Missouri

Dan Borgmeyer is an American businessman, current mayor of St. Charles, Missouri, and a fourth-generation city resident. He has served in various civic roles, including president of the Saint Charles Chamber of Commerce and the Saint Charles Cable TV and Tourism Commissions. Additionally, he has been involved with the Saint Charles County Road Board and East-West Gateway Coordinating Council and served on advisory boards for Centerre and Frontenac Banks. Borgmeyer is also a Vietnam combat veteran.

Alex Schneider, MPH, CPH

Founder, Find the Light Foundation

Alex Schneider founded Find the Light Foundation because she was concerned with the growing rate of suicide and overdose in her area, and after losing friends to the mental health crisis. Alex is an epidemiologist and uses her experience in science, along with her background in advocacy and her experiences with her own mental health, to develop evidence-based strategies and programs within Find the Light Foundation. By combining her expertise in public health with her passion for mental health advocacy, Alex aims to address the root causes of mental health challenges and implement effective solutions.
